Course - Introduction to University Mathematics
An introduction to studying mathematics at university. Some content repeated from A-level like facts about the natural numbers, induction, and the binomial theorem. Lots of new stuff like sets, relations, injectivity and surjectivity, and logic. The biggest change from A-level probably was the huge focus on proof rather than computation – I remember being asked by my tutor how the first problem sheet went and I responded something like “it was good, but I didn’t like all the proofs”, to which he replied that I’m going to have to get used to it, since the whole degree is basically just proof after proof.
I was still getting into the groove of taking notes at this point, so all the flashcards I wrote are under the Lectures section, organised by date rather than concept.
